THE BIOSPHERE
Hi guys!
Here you have some useful pics to study your new lesson. Enjoy them! :)
Organisms of the same species can have different types of relationships: they can COOPERATE or COMPETE.
COOPERATION
- FAMILY GROUP: Stable groups in which the offspring are fed and cared for by the mothers or PARENTS during the first years of life.
- HIERARCHICAL COMMUNITIES: Ants, termites and BEES live in highly organised societies with each organism specialised in a different role: workers, drones and the queen.
- GREGARIOUS SPECIES: Some animals move, migrate or live in groups to protect themselves against predators, Fish, birds or CATTLE, form schools, flocks or herds.
COMPETITION: Two males of the same species compete for a female.
Identify the different relationship: a) Gregarious species; b) Hierarchical communities; c) Family groups; d) Gregarious species; e) Competition; f) Gregarious species.
Are the organisms below producers or primary, secondary or tertiary consumers?
a) Secondary consumer;b) Tertiary consumer;c) Primary consumer;d) Producer.
Extintction occurs when every single member of a species dies and none are left alive. We can say that this species has become extinct. EXTINCTION is often a natural process and has occurred for millions of years.
HOW TO PRESERVE THE EARTH´S BIOSPHERE
Balance within the biosphere is a fragile miracle. Life on planet Earth is unique and it´s our responsability to preserve it. Making simple changes in our lives helps to preserve biodiversity. There are many things that you can do to help. Just start with the Three R´s Rule: reduce, reuse and recycle.
